Major Egg products suppliers turn to Lion

Lion egg products producers now account for 70% of the UK’s egg products production, with six of Britain’s largest suppliers now fully certified producers of British Lion Quality egg products.

D Wise, Lowrie Foods and Ready Egg Products have successfully completed audits to join existing Lion egg products members Bumble Hole, Framptons and Noble Foods.

Mark Wise, Director of D.Wise Ltd, said: “Moving to Lion is the logical choice for us as a business and the industry as a whole. Buyers are after assurances on food safety, consistent quality, food miles and readiness for 2012, among other things, and that’s what the Lion delivers.”

Clive Frampton, Chairman of the British Egg Products Association, said: “I’m delighted that the majority of the UK’s egg products processors are now Lion accredited as this reflects healthy customer demand for Lion egg products.

“The food manufacturing industry wants top quality British ingredients and has recognised the distinct food safety and consumer benefits of Lion, and is now making the switch with confidence.”
